What Gaja Yoga Teachers Are Saying

Hear from graduates who brought the training into their work, relationships, leadership, and daily practice.

Johanna Moore, MD

Everything I’d learned over decades of personal development, mindset work, meditation, and breathwork was rooted in the wisdom of yoga all along. Gaja’s emphasis on meditation and Ayurveda opened my eyes to a wholeness I hadn’t experienced before. This training isn’t just about yoga. It’s about remembering who you are.

This training reminded me to come back to the heart of nursing, to humanize, to slow down, and to extend grace to myself, those I lead, and the patients we serve. It strengthened my self-awareness, communication, and ability to hold space for others with more steadiness and compassion.

FAQ

Get Your Questions Answered

  • Do I need advanced flexibility or prior teaching experience to join?

No. You do not need advanced flexibility or previous teaching experience to enroll. This training is designed for students who are ready to practice, study, and grow in a structured and supportive environment. If you feel called to deepen your practice and learn how to teach safely and authentically, you can begin from where you are.

  • Is this an online yoga teacher training?

Yes. This is a fully online 16-week yoga teacher training that combines structured coursework with live mentorship, practice teaching, and guided support. You can train from home while still receiving real-time feedback, community connection, and direct access to experienced faculty.

  • Is the program recognized by Yoga Alliance?

Yes. The training is offered through a Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga School (RYS 200) curriculum. That means the program follows recognized industry standards for a 200-hour yoga teacher training while also offering Gaja’s distinctive holistic approach.

  • How much time should I expect to commit each week?

Plan to dedicate about 6 to 10 hours per week for classes, practice, study, and assignments. This makes the program rigorous enough to build real teaching skill, while still being manageable for many students with work, family, or other responsibilities.

  • Can I do this training while working full-time?

es. Many students choose online yoga teacher training because they need a format that fits around work and life commitments. Gaja’s structure is designed to support consistent progress without requiring you to put your whole life on hold. You will need to stay engaged and manage your time well, but the program is built for real adults with real schedules.

  • Will I get live support, or is it fully self-paced?

You will get live support. The program includes weekly live mentorship, practice teaching, office hours, and interactive discussion, so you are not left to figure everything out alone. You’ll have the benefit of online flexibility with the accountability and connection of live learning.

  • What makes this yoga teacher training different from other online programs?

Gaja’s training goes beyond basic pose instruction. It combines asana, breathwork, meditation, philosophy, anatomy, Ayurveda, and the art of teaching into one integrated learning experience. Students also receive weekly mentorship, practice teaching, and a whole-person approach that supports both personal transformation and professional readiness.

  • What will I learn in the program?

You’ll learn the foundations of yoga philosophy, ethics, breathwork, meditation, alignment, safe movement, sequencing, teaching presence, modifications, and holistic lifestyle principles. The curriculum is designed to help you deepen your own practice while building the knowledge and confidence to guide others with skill and care.

  • Will I get practice teaching experience?

Yes. Practice teaching is a core part of the training. You’ll have opportunities to teach, receive feedback, and build confidence in a supportive environment. This hands-on element helps bridge the gap between learning about yoga and actually guiding others safely and effectively.

  • What happens if I miss a live session?

The program includes live sessions, but there is built-in flexibility. Students are expected to attend 12 out of 16 live sessions to meet requirements. This gives you room for real-life scheduling conflicts while still maintaining the consistency needed for meaningful learning and certification progress.

  • How long do I have to complete the certification requirements?

You’ll have up to 4 months after the program ends to complete any remaining certification requirements. That extra window helps students stay on track without unnecessary pressure if they need a little more time to finish strong.

  • What kind of support will I receive during and after the training?

During the program, you’ll receive live mentorship, Q&A, office hours, practice teaching support, and community connection. After enrollment, you also receive lifetime access to resources, including instructional materials, guided practices, and tools to support your continued growth as a practitioner and teacher.

  • Can this training help me start teaching professionally?

Yes. This program is designed to help you build the knowledge, confidence, and teaching skills needed to begin sharing yoga in a safe, grounded, and professional way. It can support students who want to teach classes, integrate yoga into an existing wellness career, or use the training as a foundation for a more purpose-driven next chapter.

  • Is there a payment plan available?

Yes. Payment plan options are available, including the ability to split payments through available checkout options. That makes it easier to enroll now and spread the cost over time.
